PM issue

Can I get some clarification on the PM issue or a fix?

I have tried to PM several folks this week. After finding their post, typing in the PM and pressing send only then does it say they cannot/have chosen not to accept PMs. Could this message get up front, instead of after all the typing and such?

Are there only certain levels of folks who can get/send PMs?

At the top of my screen, it reads, " The features available only to community supporters are Search, Private Messaging, Custom User Titles and Who's Online."

Maybe the people you wanted to contact were no Custom Users? (I'm relatively sure that PM means Private Messaging. If I'm wrong, disregard this post)

Empress is right, non-Community Supporters can't receive PMs. That may be the problem.

Community Supporters can use Private Messages. But they can also turn off PM functionality if they don't want to receive PMs. So it might be inability to receive PMs, or it might be a desire not to receive PMs.

I'm not sure what would be necessary to check PM status before you submit a post for one though.

Clay, did this problem occur when trying to send a PM to a Community Supporter? If so, which one? PM me the names, please.

Not everyone who has gotten themselves a custom title (and thus can be readily identified as a CS) has also gotten private messaging capability (and a select few who do might have chosen not to receive PMs anyway).
I can check all that in the Mod CP - but I need to know who to look up.

I don't think so. The last oen, no. The others, I am now unsure. I will check more carefully in the future.
