PoA questions spoilers

Ok maybe I am dense but I have a couple of questions.
1)In the bandit caves there is a marker for a murky pool. What is this? I moved my mouse slowly around looking for something to interact with and nothing. My Char has a pretty good search and didn't find anything. As far as I can tell the map denotation is there for looks.

2)Also In Acsension below the sewers there is an area with Yuan ti. there is an alter and 2 big trapped doors all with pictures of a Dragon with an egg. Obviously I need the right item (I think a dragon egg) to activate the altar to open the doors. I spent a lot of time down there and found nothing. Not even on the High Priest (man what a tough fight).
My question is thus: The item in question is it found somewhere else? I don't need details just a yes or no as that high priest I would rather not fight again until necessary. If not for my minor ring of power I would have died twice down there.

The Murky pool if you walk up to it correctly will give you an option to drink the water..doing so bull strengths you. In addition if you have an empty bottle in your inventory (one can be found in the trapped barrel in the bandit caves) you gain a new option at the pool, namely filling the empty bottle with the murky water.. doing so produces a potion of bull strength.

Cant help with this one im afraid, I know the altar and also the two locked warded doors in that area and have visited them a few times, but to the best of my knowledge they are either not finished, or no known way to bypass them exists.. I have never heard of anyone having passed the doors or found a use for the altar. Maybe that particular area wasnt finished?

Dang. I never explored the sewers. Didn't even occur to me until my char was about 8th level. Went in, saw rats and some 3rd level chars running about, and decided my guy was in a low-level zone. Never went back.

Guess I'll have to take a look next time I'm on. Been haunting a low-magic server the last few days, but the endless hunting of deer for food can get old. 'Bout time for some more PoA action .

Yeah you can get past the alter... But not without an item. An item that you will need to be very high level to find.
Also even with this item I must warn you, there is a cost to use it that has nothing to do with gold.
