I'd say it's a type of poison, as well.

Which was rather unfortunate for my dwarven druid when he got the Venom Immunity power. What good is a dwarf that can't get drunk?

Alcohol is no venom. With venom they mean only the natural stuff, like a snake's or spider's venom. I think black lotus extract will still kill you, and you can get drunk as a druid.

Well, after reading a book by Hugh Cook (The Walrus and the Warwolf) where Drake Douay is 'granted' (forced) to become immune to all poisons etc, he can't suppress the ability...even though this was done for story purposes, i don't think, they should be able to suppress it, unless with magic

Alcohol is no venom some time wrong.

some underdark wines(drow) are made with drider venom. making it a poisonous to all but drow!

Poor dwarf. time for seppuku.

I've alway assumed dwarven drinks were extra potent to account for the dwarven health and poison resistance. And magicly enhancing booze does not help enough much thanks to their resitance to magic.

Or they developed a taste for drinks like Everclear...

As for getting drunk, the druidic dwarf may still possibly up the creek. Alcohol comes from yeast converting sugars. It is, technically, nature based. Cyanide and anything alchemically based will get them, but alcohol doesn't require all that.

I say poison immunity is immunity, so no getting drunk.

But hey, lots of people can get drunk without drinking...several studies have shown that people giving an alcohol placebo can act just as stupid as those on the real stuff...you just have to believe in yourself!!:)
