Polar Express 'creepy'?

My mother in law is already planning on taking my 4yr old. WHich is fine with me because I have NO desire to see that movie. I have not read the book which may explain alot, but the trailers do seem creepy in a sense... I am not a fan of holiday movies and I dont think parents should encourage the Santa Clause myth, so I am not the typical movie goer when it comes to this movie.
"Santa Claus myth?" WHAT DO YOU MEAN? 
Seriously, my wife collects Santa figurines (you should see our living room), and she's really looking forward to seeing The Polar Express. I'd much rather go see The Incredibles (which she has no interest in seeing). Maybe I'll try to find someplace that's showing both at similar times. Does anyone know the running time for each movie?

It looks like driver8 beat me to the punch on the "uncanny valley" effect:
CG artists call this the "uncanny valley," the point at which a near-human model looks so real that every flaw and shortcoming is thrown into high relief. (Ever seen a child terrified of mannequins? Blame the uncanny valley.)
I definitely found the Polar Express characters in the ads and trailers creepy.

I just don't get TH playing 5 characters. Why not make the cast more interesting and varied. Is this a TH profile flick or something? I don't get it.
I really dislike the picture book and can't see myself going out to see this one unless I get dragged by the family.

I don't even understand this movie. There's a book? Okay, I guess that explains why it was made.
But what the Frank? A train to the North Pole? And I care about this, why?
Of the many incredibly-stupid-looking movies that come out of the film industry with depressing regularity, this one ranks pretty high.
I didn't even have time to think, "Creepy" -- I was too busy thinking, "Stupid".
