Blackleaf should not die to begin with. Obviously Blackleaf was a kickass PC and the DM should have an angel appear and save her at the last second.

But the player should still die. I'm thinking death by a mass murdering clown would be appropriate.

How about Black Dougal? Is he still alive?

You can find a reference to Black Dougal in DCC #35: Gazetteer of the Known Realms by Goodman Games. It seems he has more lives than a black cat... his unfortunate death by poison needle in the Basic Set was just one of several early career mis-steps by the legendary thief.
