D&D 4E Poll: Who Would LIke to See the Drow in 4E PHB?

Should the drow be added to the 4E PHB?

We really do not need the Elf, Half-Elf, Eladrin, (Half-Eladrin?!) and Drow in the PHB. I don't mind the idea that there's enough Good-aligned Drow out there to justify making it a PC race--the idea of entire species being of only one possible moral alignment frankly sucks--but the PHB's already got quite enough pointy ears in it.

Did it say anywhere that Eladrin are playable?
There was an eladrin character in one of the playtest reports.

I'm not sure how I managed to forget about half-elves in my previous post. Bloody hell, we've already got three elf races in the PHB. Drow would make four. When will the madness end?

I like drow. I don't even mind having them a playable option. Sure, some people like playing good drow, but they all exist in different worlds (it's not like all Forgotten Realms players play in the same world... not counting Living Forgotten Realms.) On the other hand, I don't really see them as needed for PHB1. It should be a mostly neutral race list. Having it an option in other books would be good.

I'd like to see some playable drow. They should be balanced for level one play with useful abilities (SLAs are currently crap, LA screws them over), and they should be in the PHB. Been trying to play a drow wizard (focusing on necromancy, but not a specialist) who won't totally suck ever since I got my first 3.5 PHB.

Yes.

They are (or at least are alleged to be) a very popular racial choice, especially among relatively new players attracted to D&D through its licensed media. Seems like a logical choice for the PHB.

I put I don't care, but I really do. If Elf is in there, Drow should not be. Too much space devoted to two races that are too similar.

I really don't care.

As numerous as they are, and considering that they have their own countries, regions, etc, I can easily accept them being in the PHB without much trouble (as opposed to warforged, tieflings, and so forth that are rare/minor fringe races). On the other hand, they could be left out of it, and I would not even miss them. Probably, I would not even notice.

So, really, I do not care.

Exactly my point. In your typical D&D campaign, drow would be a rather uncommon occurance, sure, but warforged and tieflings would be downright rare. Yet Robocop and Diet Coke of Evil get PHB space, and the Dark Elves do not. Seems strange to me.

Two elvish cousins and their bastard progeny is enough for one PHB. Any more and we might as well start calling the game Edifices & Elves instead of Dungeons & Dragons.
