Basically a feat that gives one massive bonus to your survivability, but only once. Would you ever take it for your character?

Ressurection

Prereq: None
Benefit: Once in a character's lifetime if he is killed by any effect or by damage, he is instead stabalized at -9 hitpoints.

Definitely. It reminds me of Shadowrun's Karma system where once in your life you can burn all your Karma and have the "Hand of God" to save your character. I think it would be better as an option/house rule than a feat, though.

Sure. That would be quite cool, actually. :)

Not the mostest, bestest, biggest, baddest son of a feat around, but. . . nice, anyway.

Nope.

It's a one-shot, then it's used up.

A feat represents a significant investment. You only ever get so many, after all. A feat that at some point is expended is a rather harsh cost, even if it does prevent you from dying.

Edit: Plus there's nothing stopping whatever it is that put you below -10 in the first place from just walking up and sticking you again after you've cashed in your feat. And that would just suck.

My thoughts exactly.

That's exactly like a a Death Delver PrC (from Heroes of Horror) capstone class feature, obtained after 9 levels of nigh-pure suck, except it's 7 times stronger. It also mentions how it saves you at -9 stabilized, but doesn't stop lava from melting you in a few rounds anyways too.

IMO, both the PrC and the feat suck. Too situational, too dependent on DM graces, and a TPK is still a TPK.

That sounds remarkably like the human racial feat in Races of Destiny, except I think it was usable once a day. Does anyone remember what it was called?

Gotta agree with the nay sayers on this one.

Too iffy and there's a lot of magic items and spells that can save your ass if it comes down to it. There's not a lot that duplicates most of the feats. Yes, there are some, but mainly not. Which is what makes feat selection important and a defining part of your character. Power Attack, Spring Attack, Great Cleave... some examples. And they keep on giving! One of the biggest selling points for a good feat.

What about Action Points and feats that require them to use? You only get so many of those points ever as well, and if you run out of those points, those feats are dead in the water.
