Would you play Original D&D(1974)?(OD&D fanatics only)

Oh, definitely yes! I didn't vote because my answer would be "any of the above." If only I could find someone else willing to play it. Everyone around here is either diehard AD&D1 or 3.X

You know what? As much as I'd love to be open-minded, and say, "Sure, with the right group!" (and I think I did say that in another recent poll), I've had some time to think about it, and honestly, I'd have to say:

No.

With the "right" group (whatever that means) I'll do anything for a one shot. Would I play a weekly campaign for three years in 1st Edition? No. Would I play the same in a 2nd Edition AD&D campaign? Hell no.

I love reading the old books. I regularly pillage them for ideas. But if you're playing the game, then you're not pillaging ideas. You're actually using the mechanics. And 1st Edition would drive me CRAZY right now.

Not to be nitpicky, but it doesn't make a lot of sense to ask OD&D fanatics if they would want to play in an OD&D campaign. I mean, the answer would obviously be 'yes', wouldn't it?

thus why there isn't a negative reply in the poll ;)

I would. I have already DMed a one-shot, using the three booklets and Judges Guild's Thieves of Fortress Badabaskor module. It was pretty nice, although I would not run a whole campaign with the rules "as is".

I would. I picked your second choice but i'd prefer the original booklets and supplemt 1 (greyhawk) that way there could be fighters/MUs/Clerics and Thieves in the adventuring parties without a whole lot of other stuff (there'd be paladins too but they'd be rare).
