[Poly] World War II Mini-Game

As far as the mini games I have to say that I've liked them all and have been quite happy with what I've seen so far. Though i have to admit that Gene-Tech wasn't as strong as Mecha Crusade. But I've also heard alot of people dissing the Dungeon side of the magazine. Every month I find at least one or two adventures that I really like, and they usually give me ideas for Locales in my own home brewed campaign world.

I'd love to see a Dark Matter mini-game! Masque of the Red Death would be great as well! I would also like to speak up for Al Qadim. If it can't be done properly as full on hardback campaing setting book, then at least a mini-game would be something.

Somebody mentioned the idea of an yearly mini-game support issue... I like that idea, maybe a senario or three, supplimental rules, expansions... these would be wonderful to have. New weapons for the Mecha, sample inventioins for Pulp Heros, lots of things could be done this way.

second that!

Well, I have a subscription so I'll be getting it anyway. And I'll read it and see if there is anything I want. There may be; you never know. WWII just leaves me cold as dirt, though, but then anything purely modern historical will. Or maybe not. A Western I might could like, but really just so I could do a fantasy version, like The Flight of Michael McBride by Midori Snyder.

WWII particularly, though... eh.

That line appears to be doing very well for SJG, though, so I guess there must be significant and growing interest in it out there somewhere or they wouldn't have bothered making more than the first couple of books. I know WWII's certainly been popular lately.

I was going to ask when this issue came out, but then I re-read the thread and found it. Too bad: I'm going to run a WWII infantry game over winter vacation.

I dunno. I'd kinda like to see a freaky manapunk type setting, where it's the modern day (around 20th century sometime), but not. With dungeons, weird monsters, magic is the norm, but with pseudo-modern technology. Not extremely dark and gritty like Shadowrun, but more fun, with swords and bizarre monsters alongside guns and cars.

I'm working on something like that for myself. Actually I'm converting what I have for a Storyteller System version into D20. It's tentavily called Neon Armageddon 2028, which is kind of a joke. Imagine very James bond like heroics in a war ravaged Earth where massive MegaCorps rule vast tracts of land, withe the Federal Government trying to stem the tide. The heroes are:

Cass Vega: A cybernetic beauty who still only knows part of her past. An excellent pilot, drunk, and man eater she still has a heart of gold.

Dr. Samuel Greene: An African American ecologist who happens to be a were-aligator and a voodoo witch doctor.

Azrael: The groups resident drunk and quantum physicist, he lost a good portion of his sanity when he spent several years in a "null space".

...anyway. There is magic, mechas, Standard issue Big Guns and mutants. Who could need more? Oh, and an alien inasion that has been going on a long time before roswell.

Email me if you want details!
