Polyhedron - Shadow Chasers

Ah. Thanks for the clarification on the githyanki, Mr. Mona. He should've probably been more yellow and scaly, but that's oh-kay. I really liked the rest of the art, too. Took me back to the old bash-the-monster comic book days. I've got tons of character ideas I wanna try out....not to mention just being me in a non-white-wolf game! I hate all those critters and their angsty brooding. They need a good acid-coated worm to the head, if you ask me.
I can't wait for Spelljammer. There had better be a good bionoid template in there, or I'm gonna eat somebody's brain, and it won't be pretty.
Oh, yeah...and Disney ripped off Atlantis. Go to http://www.oldcrows.net/Atlantis if you don't believe me. You should also see http://www.thesecretofbluewater.com/atlantis-i.htm for another good comparison.

To Bran and others....

Wrong. I am entitled to feel anyway I want about the art. If the art affects me enough that I wouldn't purchase the supplement, I feel I need to mention it.

In my OPINION, the art for the most part was really bad. Whoever did the cover art - yuck. The other art in it was fine.

Like it or not, art can be a big deciding factor in people purchasing a product. I don't require art to be fantastic, just decent, and I thought it was horrible.

Back when I collected comics, art like that was enough to make me drop titles.

Something that doesn't excite me will make me NOT buy a product. Interesting concepts and cool art are always big draws. Compared to Pulp D20, the art was severly lacking.

I REALLY didn't like it, and that is my opinion. I'm entitled to it.

And as for your anonymity comment:

I have no problem with anyone's opinions. They are their own. I am entitled to like it, though I think it could have been a bit better. I liked the style of the work, and I liked the art in the prestige class section, though I think the mage's picture could have been done better.
I haven't got a problem with it. Not at all.
Now, stop ranting about the art and go out there and win one for you humans!

i LOVED the cover art for shadow chasers...

then again, i really enjoy sparse and line-heavy styles. i dig the sharp angles and the forceful colors -- it kind of reminds me of the commercial art of the 60's, except with less spiral doo-dads.

having said that, i can also see why someone wouldn't like it. and i agree that appreciation of visual art is usually based on personal preference and opinion! for example, i hated the troll cabbie piece. that doesn't mean i couldn't see that it took talent to create the piece -- i just didn't like it.

then again, i'm the same guy who said that the cover for the PHB and the interface for the WotC's character gen looked like candy-coated dog poop.

overall, i really like most of the art i'm seeing inside the sourcebooks (forgotten realms, magic of faerun, and wheel of time were gorgeous!) and the mags.

the only way it could be made better is to bring back erol otus!!!!

OTUS 4 LIFE d00d! :-)

I'd give regular work to Erol Otus and Jeff Dee assuming they were interested.

Go for it, whatever it takes to get Stan's crap "art" out of the mags. Anything is better than his poorly drawn, sexist piles of crap that have been popping up more and more in Dragon, Dungeon/Poly and Star Wars gamer. Good god, please make it stop.

It's actually a githyanki dressed as Tyler Durden.

Seriously.

Ha! Oh man, that made my day.

I thought you guys behind Polyhedron's revamping were cool before, but this? This is just priceless.
