Can a char poly into a stone giant and cast?
What counts as human like hands?

A char in my game uses the form of a stone giant with bracers AC+6 and hasted and stoneskinned. His AC by the rules was 32 (natural +11, +2 dex, +6 bracers, +4 haste, -1 size). Casting twice a round.

In this particular game he held up alone against a large earth elemantal. I think he could have taken a half dosen.

P.S It won't help a 10th level fighter hit him but if an elemental grappled him what dammage would I do??

What about the bull rush into a wall. simple weight/200 pounds *1d6?

I assume you are going by the Polymorph as described in the PHB, right?
I suggest, if you have any problems with Polymorph, that you use the updated description in Tome & Blood instead. While not perfect, it is a vast improvement.
(It was also in Dragon #280, and here)

For instance you cannot Polymorph into a creature with more HD tan you have levels (and no more than 15). So to Polymorph into a Stone Giant, you'd have to be level 14. And a level 14 wizard shouldn't have any problem with a large elemental.

Human like hands I take as meaning four fingers and an opposable thumb, so a stone giant would defenitely qualify.

I'd let a large earth elemental do it's ordinary damage on a grapple. You do your ordinary unarmed damage while grappling, and the elemental's slam damage sounds good.

yes - he can...
any creature that resembles a "humanoid" is considered to have human like hands.

Giants thus fall into this category - as do most celestials, demons, and devils.

as for the other two questions - dunno.

You are probably best to get an opponent who can dispel the polymorph and use him vs the player once he tries this.

Thanks
The updated wording is much better.

I like the inability to become undead/elemental or outsider.

grapple=slam damage is good. I had a problem accepting a massive creature swinging at a large creature and hitting air for 6 rounds. Grapple bypasses the +11 natural armor and gets big vs big back to a realistic level. I think I will keep this up my sleave and use it before I suggest the new rules for the spell :D

PS part of my problem is that the part (7 x 11th level chars + 1 20th level fighter and a few guards) are about to incounter an assasination attempt by 4 oger mages, 2 beholder, 2 drow and 2 duegar and whatever they summon. Given the original rule on poly I think they will mush the party.
