Polymorph and Equipment

So if a polymorph spell, when it ends, "goes out of its way" to avoid destroying equipment... wouldn't suppression by an AMF bypass those "safety features"? No chance for the magic to safely get the plate mail out of the way before the guy wearing it turns back into a dragon...

The only similar situation I can think of is the song dragon. The designers went out of their way to insure the safety of the dragon over the equipment, i.e. all armor/bonds/etc destroyed automatically. I'd probably just use that across the board.

Why isn't the Dragon polymorphing into a paladin already wearing full plate? Its natural armor can become its full plate! When you polymorph you change into something and all its equipment. Unless that dragon wanted to try on that +5 full plate it found killing a paladin why wouldn't it just make the full plate part of the polymorph since thats why the polymorph does anyways?

"When the polymorph occurs, the creature's equipment, if any transforms to match the new form."

I've never come across natural armor turning into full plate before...?
