Polymorph self question

I thought part of the errata on polymorph self made it go from change into as many forms as you want to change into only one form. Am I misrembering?

I checked out the newly released srd version and it has this last paragraph:

The character can change form as often as desired for the duration of the spell simply by willing it so. Each change is a full-round action. The character regains hit points as if having rested for a day only from the initial transformation, however.

Nope ... that was never part of the errata .. you could always change into multiple forms.

Well, first of all you linked Polymorph Other. Also, if you look at the newest version of Polymorph Self in the Psionic Handbook errata, it drops the section about changing forms.

Voadam, you are correct; the multiple forms capability has been removed from Polymorph Self.

The updated version of the spell is listed in Tome & Blood. It now works just like Polymorph Other, except for the difference in duration and targetting.

Really? Wow.. what a way to castrate that spell!

If by "castrate," you mean "no longer broken" then I agree.

(But our house rules take care of that spell's problems, IMO).

• Limit forms to creatures with which the caster is familiar
• place logical limitations on which forms allow the casting of spells

I'm pretty sure those are the offical rules.

The srd polymorph is pre-errata, they made it full text instead of just "as polymorph other except . . ." which threw me a little on first glance.

It is too bad, I use the srd more frequently than my 1st printing PH and it would have been fairly easy to incorporate the errata.
