D&D 5E Portable Ram as a weapon

Why not go Goliath, then use a Tonfa as a weapon? I could see a Goliath using a SWAT team door ram as a huge tonfa. That way it would still be a weapon so you could get your proficiency and it would look pretty badass too.

If you see The Force Awakens, you might find some inspiration for the concept.

I don't think wielding it as a weapon would deal more than 1d4 damage, as any other improvised weapon.

At 35lbs and capable of being utilised by a second person, I don't believe you could do much other than try to poke people in the stomach with it... and while the romantic notion of attacking with it would inspire some to give it more damage, it's no more effective as a weapon than hitting someone with a chair, or a table!

Perhaps you could look into not trying to use a portable ram, but creating some kind of polearm that deals bludgeoning damage by poking people - far less weight but the fact it's designed to be wielded would help you deal much more of an impact.
