Possible Power Sources

Some have all the roles, some don't, some are hybrid, that's how I see 4E sources and classes.

Martial
Fighter - defender
Ranger - striker
Rogue - striker
Warlord - leader

Divine
Cleric - leader
Crusader - striker
Favored Soul - controller
Paladin - defender

Arcane
Bard - leader
Illusionist - controller
Swordmage - defender
Warlock - striker
Wizard - controller

Primal
Barbarian - defender
Druid - striker/controller
Shaman - leader
Sorcerer - controller

Shadow
Beguiler - controller
Duskblade - defender
Necromancer - controller
Shadow Dancer - striker

Psionic
Ardent - leader
Psion - controller
Psychic Warrior - defender
Soulknife - striker

Tech short for technological
Artificer or Tinkerer - controller
Sniper - striker
Warmachine - defender

Ki or Chi

Nice lists guys!
My big mmmm is Necromancers as leaders. Yes they 'lead' undead but leaders (as a class role) don't actually lead their allies as such, they 'enable' them. I reckon they are more likely to be controllers or strikers using necrotic energy and minions to achieve this.

Yes leader is an awful class role term: buffer? enabler? 'helpful to the rest of the party' er? :D I can't come up with anything better.

Obviously Necromancers lead their undead minions, which in turn provide bonuses :)

Yes, I think you're dead-on. They're in essence controllers. I still have the idea or leadership when I think about the leader role, which is not really the real definition of the leader in 4E. I will edit my post and remove the hybrid role I assigned to the necromencer, so they can be purely a controller class.

You may be correct and Shadow leader could be the equal to the Martial controller.

Illusion has been associated with the Shadow power source in W&M, that's why I put the Illusionist as a Shadow controller. I like the Artificer name, but Tinker only reminds me of Tinker gnomes from DL, the beggining of the downfall of the Gnomes.

Well, why there is illusion spells, if its related to shadow power?

That we will have to wait to find out, for all I know they changed everything after W&M came out.

Yes, you're right. I have W&M too. Maybe illusion is just a keyword portable to many power source, in that case it could be linked to shadow and arcane power source.
