Post-Apocalyptic Settings

I was actually referring to the 2nd edition. The original was just a supplement for the TMNT RPG.

I LOVE After the Bomb (second Edition)! Great stuff. While I'm no longer a fan of the Palladium System, I sold all my Palladium Books (had pretty much all the Rifts stuff, and most of their Fantasy stuff) I couldn't bare to part with my After the Bomb book. I too, dig it out regularly and work up Mutant animals in my head.
Would love to play it, but most of my players shudder at the mention of the Palladium mechanic.
Oh well such is life,

Could anyone give me some more info about EarthAD2? What's the mechanic like?
Thanks,

Hi Bill,

2d6, roll under ability+skill; basic resolution uses bonus/penalty dice, while advanced resolution uses difficulty values, meaning that the margin between your roll and skill total needs to be a certain value for success. Did you want any other specifics?

(There are no OGL conversions for this system, since it is designed to be quick-play.)

Thanks for responding!
I've read a review for it, sounds interesting, just wanted some more info. I've read the posts over on your web-site, lot's of folks praising it. Would it work for long term gaming, or is it more for one-shots and such? My group is hesitant to learn a new non-d20 system.
Thanks again,

Erm, how about the setting?

Sorry for the late reply. I'm finally able to receive emails from enworld, but they seem to be a few days late :(

Anyway, the setting is very open yet diverse so you can customize it to your own needs. You've got the Wastes and Roads where mutants reside (perfect for Mad Max adventures), the Wilds where sentient animals reside (Planet of the Apes), Metal Cities where sentient machines once resided (Terminator), Lazar Pits where the Rejects and plague-bearers are sentenced by the Pures, Undervalleys where you can pretty much play Lost World stories, Icy Wastes, Swaying Cities where the remnants of the corporations fight for supremacy of the stalks at sea (perfect for Waterworld), the Wild Islands with dinosaurs (Jurassic Park), and a few other regions.

It's pretty generic so that you can make each region your own as you use them, but the included scenarios give plenty of insight into how the regions can be utilized. The Enhancement Pack adds two new regions, one including a new demonic infection with beasties to go with it.

You can portray Pure Humans, Mutants, Infected Rejects, Robotic Humans, Cybernetic Mutants, Evolved Animals (from a selection or create your own; there are new ones on the web site's collaborative), or aliens (from HardNova 2 perhaps).

You can use it as a series of one-shots or for extended play.

Hope that helps.
