Post count- whats the big deal?

Lanefan - the level points that we talk about are with 1 post=1XP by the D&D 3e scale. So, 1000 posts makes you 2nd level, 3000 gives 3rd level, 6000 gives 4th level, etc. See your PHB for more details. :)
Ah; that's the tie-in I was missing.

When EN crashed last year, I lost over 900 posts - the vast majority of which were in House Rules, in which I was well known. Really, I was kicked in the shorts in regards to creativity - I had even, in the week previous to the crash, posted up a thread on a new homebrew I haven't touched since (because I lost all three pages of it), and in fact it's only been in the last couple weeks I've gotten back into House Rules and rekindled my love of tinkering. I got depressed over how much of my hard work had been lost.

While I went on (like others) about how I lost so many posts, I was thinking about what I posted, not just simply the number which appears under my username and my supposed "loss of rep" or some silly thing like that.

just one man's opinion,

I suppose I can see that (few years ago I had a computer crash take a months worth of work (back up often, people, the broken heart you save could be your own)).

FWIW- I do enoy a few posters and you have some good ideas (not all, but a few ;) ).

Neither of these are indicative of those of us who visited the site and read it on a regular basis for three years before actually joining the message boards. Yet I still hardly post, mainly because everyone else makes my points for me.
Ditto... I like to just sit back and read what everyone else has to say. if someone asks for opinions.. hen i will chime in. Otherwise, i may post one a day...

Neither seems incredibly important.. and by bringing it up.. arent you giving it more importance than you are claiming it deserves?
