Platinum Clockwork Horror CR 9: Implosion and Disjunction at will! Plus it can sunder most weapons a PC will have at the time they face this thing.

Most of the elementals CR is a little out of whack.

Oh yeah, I forgot about elementals. ~170 hit points seems a bit much for a CR 7 monster.

Well i threw some rutterkins (BoVD) at the party two weeks ago and they were almost completely domolished... 4 4thlvl against a CR5 encounter...

But anyway, they can also do quite a bit of damage if I remember correctly...

I ran an encounter with an Osy against a party of 2 whole level 6ers (a monk and a psion[Egoist]), and they didn't fare too badly. With a full party (their other compatriate had just been smashed to hall by a tiefling cleric) I think they could have dealt with it just fine. The only thing that really screwed them up was when he conjured a devil (or is it demon?) buddy up to help out.

Well, due to most of the demons/devils abilities, they are to be used as story monsters, not wandering and the sort, they are heads, not soldiers... anyway, their Hp is really pathetic.

What about that nice gorilla with 4 arms? The GIRALLON??

may rend if hit with 2 (TWO!!) claws for more 2d4+12 (automatic hit)

All this for a CR 5!!! OHH!! Give me 4 5th level characters in a jungle and I will rip everyone in about 4 rounds... not to count that it almost never misses AND it may be found in groups of 2 to 4...

Girallons are EVIL!!

I've seen just one rip an 8th level character paladin (somewhat injured, although he still would have been KO'd) in a single full attack! And there was more than one! And the hallways were so small that we couldn't create an effective front or attack from range! Our group was scared of a handful of these monsters even at 9th and 10th level.
