Posts per Page?

Hey there!

It looks like the viewable posts per page decreased from 25 to 15. It also doesn't look like I can change this in my account options.

Would it be possible to get that changed back, or at least make the option available? It makes conversations a lot easier to follow.

Thanks!!

Hmm. You should be able to change it.

My Account > Edit Options > Thread Display Options > Number of Posts to Show Per Page.

I've reduced the default to see what effect it has on ad revenue and pageviews (in theory it will increase both), but you're more than welcome to set it how you like it.

I can certainly understand wanting to increase pageviews, but since I'm a subscriber and have turned off the ads, I think I'm costing you more instead! :)

I have two options - "Use Forum Default" and "Show Posts per Page". But they don't seem to change anything, either way.

No worries - the upcoming upgrade makes this very non-critical. Thanks!

Nifft - thanks for the heads-up. I downloaded that, and it's already making televisionwithoutpity about ten times less annoying.

From a technical perspective, long pages with many posts on them can take more resources (in the form of database lookups). Past a certain point, more resources = exponentially longer load times. Two short pages (in sequence) may be much faster than one long page.

PS: Glad you like the add-on, it's made several sites better for me.

Fixed! If you aren't logged in, you're at 15 posts per page; members can now change this in their Options, shifting it to 20, 30 or 40 posts per page.
