Potions: ritual or alchemical?

I've been thinking about making potions come under alchemy rather than rituals. It just makes sense. That and ritual casting already has enchant item and scrolls.

What do you think?

It makes perfect sense to me too, and I do the same. The inner-cynic in me thinks the only reason they are under Rituals is because alchemy wasn't in the PHB

I see nothing wrong in letting them be covered by BOTH. In fact, I think this covers all magic item creation. Since magic item cretion seems pretty much mandatory, this opens up player choices.

This way, you get a meaningful choice:

Magic Item Creation + Alchemy

Magic Item Creation + Rituals
