Potter Franchise should take a page from LOTR Book

I think back to back filming for HP 5 & 6 would be good as long as they did all the shots for 5 before starting on 6. Changes in hair and wardrobe could be used to make them seem older.

Folks, we are looking at history here...the same actors finishing a entire run of a series, is unheard of.

Anthony Daniels and Kenny Baker appeared in every Star Wars movie as C-3P0 and R2-D2.

I believe that the most famous case of this was the show Beverly Hills 90210, which was supposed to be about teenagers, but most of the cast were in their late-20s or early-30s. :)

Another case is Smallville
Tom Welling & Erica Durance are in their late twenties
Allison Mack & Kristin Kreuk are in their early twenties

the danger has already passed.

16 playing 13 is a bigger problem than 20something playing 17.

its called puberty.

The actors were passing through it in movie 2 when it probably should have happened in movie 3, none of us cared, and thats that.

Recasting would be a travesty. Everyone involved knows this. No worries.

Look at the guy that played Viktor Krum? He was HUGE! That guy was way older then 17 heh.

Dude, he's 20. Nineteen when he was cast and probably through most of the filming. Calm down.

She's been saying it since book 3, I think.

Or at least, when I first took notice of the Potter craze, she was saying it, and that was
around the time book 3 was coming out.

I think that the Harry Potter movie franchise would best be served to film Order of the Phoenix and The Half-Blood Prince at the same time.

Fan sites and movie reviewers are constantly speculating about the possiblities of the original actors being cut due to aging. If this is a real risk, the best solution would be to simply film 5 and 6 together before some of the older cast (like Rupert Grint/Ron Weasley) from having to be cut due to age.

I was under the impression that OotP has a different writer and director than GoF mostly to expedite filming it shortly after GoF. But if they can put out a movie a year, there shouldn't be too much trouble with the actors getting too old for their parts.

Yeah, this is the only one that Steve Kloves won't be adapting for screen (so far, no word on 7), because they have him doing "Half-Blood Prince."

And yes, new director, David Yates, according to the movie's IMDb page.

I've said this before, but it seems like people have an overly-Hollywood-ized view of what teenagers look like. I think the actors they've got will be fine. As others have mentioned, the real danger period (puberty, voices changing) has passed. THey really need to keep all the actors together.
