Power Attack on Coup de Grace?

CDG doesn't have to be an attack.

Power Attack states that you choose a value which is subtracted from all melee attack rolls and that that value is also added to all melee damage rolls.

It never actually says you have to either take an Attack or Full Attack action, just that the stated number is subtracted from *all* melee attack rolls and added to *all* melee damage rolls.

There is nothing mentioned about having to make an attack roll to apply the bonus.

(I thought the same thing until I went back and checked again)

Exactly right. You can also do the same thing if you take a full round action to automatically hit an inanimate object once, instead of making your full set of attacks.

Basically is there anything that states CDG is an attack? It just says you hit and do damage, is that the same thing?

Melee Attacks: With a normal melee weapon, *you can strike any opponent* within 5 feet. (Opponents within 5 feet are considered adjacent to you.) Some melee weapons have reach, as indicated in their descriptions. With a typical reach weapon, you can strike opponents 10 feet away, but you can’t strike adjacent foes (those within 5 feet).
You have to *strike an opponent* to deliver a coup de grace. Sounds like an attack to me.

A coup-de-grace should for most purposed be considered an attack; but it is neither an Attack Action nor a Full Attack Action. It also does not require an Attack Roll.

Intriguingly, in the description of coup de grace it is never described as an attack; but a full-round action. Which means that according to the respective descriptions it also doesn't break Invisibility
