Power Attack or Craft Wondrous Item for mostly a meeler, with some spellcaster levels

If you've got other characters in the group to provide the spells, Craft Wonderous Items sounds like a good choice.

I am curious why you weren't building off Expertise with Improved Trip or Whirlwind Attack. The Whirlwind Attack would allow you to take attacks at full BAB against multiple opponents. Since you've got spellcasting and rogue levels, you're BAB must be lagging a little.

I'd take option 3 exotic weapon prof spiked chain. Why let those combat reflexes go to waste? And besides you can then flank at 10'.

But between power attack and craft wonderous I'd go with craft wonderous if enither the cleric or wizard have it and don't plan on geting it.(for which they are dumb, yeesh wonderous items is the best item creation feat in the game bar none what kind of anti-powergamers do you play with :D )

Maybe they're men of action. Spending weeks and months at a time to create the stuff they sell at the store next door (if you live in a big city, that is ;) ) is not everyone's cup of tea. They might think: "The time I waste to create that stuff I can as well spend adventuring, earning me the cash to buy instead of create that item. And instead of losing, I gain experience that way.

It certainly depends on the player - and the campaign (Imagine someone with item creation feats in City of the Spider Queen).

Personally, I'd go for Power Attack. Very useful feat, that. But if the supply of magic items is limited IYC, Craft Wondrous Item might be the only chance to get the stuff you want.

Thanks for the replies everyone.

To make a long story short, I went with Power Attack.

The DM and players said I should pick whatever I wanted, but suggested Power Attack as the better choice.

Power Attack's a weird thing. I haven't heard anyone saying it's to powerful, but most warriors I know of (who go for strength, not some expertise or else) take it, and it's not unheard-of for clerics, either.

Power Attack is really weak, you should only take it so you can get Cleave (which is really good).

Craft Wondrous can be very useful; you can make lots of very nice stuff for yourself. It depends on how stingy the DM is with treasure. Also, if you can easily buy any magic item then it might not be worth getting.

Geoff.

Weak? I regularly use it to get enormous amounts of damage. I use it almost all the time, at least a little, and often use it in substantial extent. Often enough, I hit all the time anyway and then the serious beating begins.
