Power Multipliers and Weapons

All we're seeing is a fighter that forgoes the shield and takes up the 2HW. More damage but less armor. It's a good choice when there's two tanks in the party. If the fighter cannot do damage then it's back to 1st, 2nd, or 3rd Edition again.

Uhm, the 3.5 fighter can get some pretty good damage with a two-handed weapon. 1:2 power attack really helps. Around 100 damage/round is quite ordinary at level 13+...

What the fighter lacked in previous editions was the ability to do anything but damage, and he was really helpless against flying foes without items/buffs.

No, I'm talking about strikers. Ranger has [W]=1d10 with a longbow.

The Fey style warlock sounds like it'd be less damage oriented than other styles

Possible, but I doubt the different locks have different powers, that would make the lock chapter much bigger than the other class chapters. Probably, the daily and encounter powers we know are good for all locks.

The "potential" that the designers were incompetent? I see no reason to worry about it.

I'm going to assume that you weren't trying to put words in my mouth. But let's be clear here: that's not something I said, or even implied.

Actually if you look at the daily and encounter for warlocks they say "fey", which probably means they're exclusive to those who have a fey pact. Although the equivalent for other pacts might not be that much more damaging.

Either they're exclusive, or they're like the rogue powers that have a little kicker for characters of the correct "flavor." I think it's likely that many of the warlock powers will be fey, infernal, or shadow, but that they can be used by any 'lock. I also think it's likely that warlocks of the correct flavor will get a little bonus with some of their powers.

Just a few more weeks and we'll see. I hope you're right, it would give them a lot more variation in their powers.
