I'm going to let my subscription run through this second adventure path, and then cancel it.
I don't particularly want a new edition of D&D that isn't the 4e I've seen previews of and liked, though of course I'll continue to actually purchase any book that catches my fancy :)

Based on the previews, I think 4E is going to be a great game for me. I don't want to bother buying yet another version of 3E, a game which I think is growing quickly obsolete (heck, I never even bought the 3.5 core rulebooks, so why should I buy Paizo's books?). Also, I have never once purchased a Paizo product, and I have never felt that I was their target audience (they are far too obsessed with older-style D&D for my tastes). As such, Paizo's decision just means that I am even less likely to ever buy one of their products.

I am in favor of neither till I see everything both have to offer. I am a bit saddened that Paizo isn't going 4E, I was hoping for a uniform front. Ah well, perhaps Pathfinder will blow my socks off when it's done (psst, it hasn't blown my socks off yet, but neither has 4E)

What about "I'm buying both!"

Agreed. I don't see this as an either/or situation. I'm a gamer, and will game using whichever system the game I'm playing in is based on. So 1e, 2e, 3e, 4e, Pathfinder, C&C, True20....who cares? I just want to game and have fun with friends.

Yeah I see where you are coming from, and lots of guys buy loads of rule sets- including me. But I would like to see where peoples main thrust of their RPG is going, I might buy PF -I doubt it, but I might, but my main RPG will be 4E, I'll edit the OP..

Interesting so far, 4E has lost out on about 13% (unsure and pro 4E) to PF RPG. And another 7% that were not going to 4E anyway will be using PR.
20% of ENW ain't a bad start for a RPG!

164 votes, and 15 that will or might go for Pathfinder. Say goodbye to the profit margin.

Because internet polls of fan communities that compose less than 5% of the total consumer base are always representative of overall market trends! Or wait. No. No, they're not.
