Actually, developing Midnight proved to be just enough to put me over into 12th level. I took "Paid On Time" as my feat and raised my Strength just in case I wasn't.

Does that go along with the publisher feat?

Pays on Time
Prerequisite: Strong Budgeting
Game Effect: Reputation +5

Coolness Factor 8!

Ditto Disclaimer: I'm also writing for DireKobold.com

I've heard this idea bounced around for the past few years but never in the format that Ross has settled upon. I was admittedly skeptical about the technical requirements, but after having DireKobold.com generate a few adventures using the Xenogenic system I am quite impressed! The adventure was generated in a matter of moments, was a small download, included handouts and everything I would need to run the game and, best of all, the layout was clean and legible. I especially liked the stat blocks!

From the writing side, I have to say that "writing to scale" introduces some interesting challenges in the design process. It's more difficult but also more satisfying. :) I look forward to seeing more adventures (including my own) on DireKobold.com

I can see this becoming a great service and encourage everyone to check it out.

I just played around on the site and tried to generate adventures in all sorts of combinations base on player configurations. I'd say this is extremely helpful. Care to present the person that came up with the idea, and who designed it? I think they should both take a bow.

so how does this work?

we put in our credit card, we get access to the modules, we download the modules in whatever range we want? or is it a one shot deal?

Disclaimer: I'm also writing for 'em.... ;)

I am pretty sure that Ross came up with the idea - it is one that I've had for some time now and when Ross and I spoke, it just so happened that we had the same idea! Great minds think alike, eh? :) As a matter of fact, Ross and I are currently chatting about some expansions of this concept that I've also had for some time now... ;)

Keep your ears open...

Right now we're in beta-test mode/marketing/fleshing out features mode. So everything is free, no credit card, no paypal, no money orders etc. We want to get the word out, get lots of suggestions, and let everyone see what it's alll about, though in the next few weeks you will have to subscribe (for free) to get access to adventures other than When Dire Kobolds Attack!

During what is expected to be the two-month beta test we'll be putting out an adventure approximately every other week. So four adventures total to demonstrate all different aspects of the system and get people excited.

Then come the first week in February we start charging. It will be subscription based and a subscription will allow you access to all of the adventures both being published and in our archive. You can download a module as many times as you want until you feel like it's just right, there's no restriction.

I hope that answers most of the questions. Thanks for the great response!

This really is a cool technology you've developed.

Are there any plans to include d20 Modern scenarios?

edit: one more bit; is there a chance you'll include formats for DM Genie, Roleplaying Master, Campaign Suite, or DMF?
