[PR Silverthorne] Book of Templates Deluxe - Coming Soon!

Leopold,

We're doing all we can to get this product into your (and many other people's) hands as soon as possible. I wish I could give you a more specific time, but there are many contingencies to getting this puppy aloft (typesetting and layout, final edits, etc.) It should be soon, though (as the thread title says) :) Besides, I can't wait to get my hands on a finished copy myself. It's going to see regular rotation at our gaming table... ::laughs evilly::

Cheers!

Here are two images from the upcoming Book of Templates: Deluxe Edition. The first is a corpse vampire gnoll by Cara Mitten, the second is a plantform troll by Jeremy Mohler. Enjoy!

I am confused! what is this about "double HD".
i have never heard of it and reading the description gave me a head ache while trying to understand it. Could somebody elaborate on exactly what it is because i don't have the first Book of Templates . The only template i know of that grants max HD is the Paragon from the Epic Level Handbook , which says each HD is maximized for HP.

Forgot to post this on the last reply
I think that this book will be quite awsome, seeing as how i Love templates! I am the DM also!!!

Anarkin,

It refers to a template (the Dreadnaught, to be exact) that doubles a creature's HD and grants max hit points per die. I believe this has been changed for the new release, as my editors felt it was "overkill" for the template. That's what it's referring to, AFAIK.

It will still be intact in the original Book of Templates ($3.00 on RPG if you want to check it out - plus about 39 other templates). Hope that helps!

PS Thanks for the kind words! :)

Dubble, double, toil and trubble...

D@^n, that art rocks! (Can you tell it's the first I've seen of it?)

The doubling of HD has precedence in the Zombie template, found in d20 Modern, and here: Zombie Template on the WotC site.

The reason your truly had a problem with it in the Dreadnaught is because it doubles the HD of a living thing, without removing that creature's class levels and so on. So a lot of questions begin to arise. Do those HD count for advancement? Do you double class levels? So forth and so on. Nobody needs that sort of headache (not when they can look to the half-human template! :p).

Max hit points per die means simply that. Don't bother rolling, just take the highest number the given die offers, rack 'em, and stack 'em. This has the effect of doubling the (average) creature's hit points without the worry of manipulating gobs of HD.

Does that clear up the issue?

A "Compleate Liste ov Templaetes" is coming soon. Stay tuned.

Book of Templates: Deluxe Edition grows again!

Silverthorne Games is proud to announce that M. Jason Parent, PDF publisher extraordinaire, has graciously contributed five additional templates to the Book of Templates: Deluxe Edition. These templates are taken from the Necromancer's Legacy product and will beef up the selection of undead templates in the BoTDE. Great news, indeed! :)

A complete list of all templates will follow shortly. Very shortly. :D
