Let me know if there are any questions or whatnot. The total number of templates will be 70 for the new edition - a 133% increase from the original! (If my math serves me right - and it seldom if ever does... :D)

Some of the templates have been culled from Green Ronin's "Plot & Poison" and "Shaman's Handbook" products as well as Ambient's (now EN Publishing's) "Necromancer's Legacy", but in all cases, we have re-worked them a bit. We think it will be a very useful resource for DMs. At least we hope so! ;)

Cheers!
Ian

PS Anarkin: Glad we could be of some assistance on the HD question!

Well it seems quite a change from the original.

Can we have a recap of what the physical dimensions of this product are supposed to be once again? Print or PDF, format, page count, price count, release date, etc...

Hey, Joe :)

This version is a major change over the previous. It is much beefier and should weigh in at around 175-200 pages or so. It will be PDF first, and then it will go to print later in the year (for those that like that sort of thing). For those that want a print version earlier than that, a POD version will be made available at RPG Now.

Release date - I'm shooting for very early May. Shouldn't be long now. Final edits are being done, then it's off to Mr. Reed for layout and "purty-fication".

Price will be around $7.00 or so. And a real bargain at that, IMHO. :D

Cheers!
Ian

Some of those look quite interesting like the Redeemed Fiend, seeing as how i have wanted to use a "good" fiend as a major NPC(non-villian) in my campaign. Some of the others look just plain cool, like the Blood Pawn and the Dragon-blooded(Dragons are major component in my campaign).
I just have to get this, and at such a low price its even better. The art work also looks cool.

I have the original, and I enjoyed it very much. This looks like it will be great, too. Can't wait to get my greedy little fingers on it.

p.s. The art looks awesome...

But.. but what about Euclidean templates??

Krug,

The Euclidean templates were cut for space reasons, along with the Pythagorian and non-Pythagorian templates :)

Seriously, though. There never were any Euclidean templates. Of course, if you're volunteering to donate one to the cause, that's a different matter altogether...

Cheers!
Ian

PS [General]: Thanks for the kind words, guys. The art is really good (I didn't produce any of it, so I guess I can say that). You won't be disappointed with the upgraded BoT.

I'll see if I can post another couple of art samples today.

Bonus Art...

Here are two more images from the upcoming Book of Templates: Deluxe Edition.

The first is a hypermitotic manticore by Jeremy D. Mohler (this one will make your players' lives a living nightmare). The second is a moon wildling satyr by Cara J. Mitten. Enjoy!

You know, the one thing I hate about Santa Carla is all the dang ....

Actually, by my estimations (and I'm no geometry expert) all of the templates are Euclidean, at least in a literal sense. By the way they apply to creatures, they're all Euclidean too ... er ... except the non-Euclidean.

:D

I hope everyone enjoys the templates they're looking forward to after they get the book too!

Tell me, what do you think a Blood Pawn is?

Any chance of seeing the OGC Templates from the SRD in the book just for the sake of completness? Besides, I can always use another example of a half dragon.
