[PR Silverthorne] Book of Templates Deluxe - Coming Soon!

We interrupt this thread to bring you the following insight into Frilf's psyche:

We now return this thread to its regularly-scheduled topic :D

/me starts frothing at the mouth waiting for the release!

Frif, just out of curiosity has anyone from the PCGen team contacted you in regards to putting this book in the program? If not, we need to work on that ;)

Ready to go!

Christopher and I are ready to go as soon as the text is ready. I'm looking forward to putting together a book of monsters.

Don't be shy....

Okay, so I admit the feral gnomes are cool. (As are the Fjurnian Gnomes of Evernor, and Frilf himself, gods love 'im). Who'd have thunk, though? Besides, feral halflings are soooo Dark Sun TM. :p

The book is being proofread as we speak, which is the final polish stage. I've been adding some simply awesome example critters by Robert Blezard (Knightfall1972), and touching up some last-minute additions along with some good changes/additions that were pointed out by Bruce Tillotson (Sir Whiskers)--more damage with special attacks due to HD increase, yum! I, for one, would like to see the half-kobold example in the book, but perhaps it's being saved for something extra special (?).

Just to whet your appetite even more, template "creation" for the game world includes spells, diseases, stable race ideas, and even fungi! (Frilf nixed my Foot Fungoid template, but maybe next April.) :o

We have taken our time to do it right (these guys work really hard to bring out the best--if I can be indulged to compliment my fellows), so what we've created is more of a creature creation (campaign) toolkit, than just a book of templates. I hope our effort proves useful, imagination stimulating, and, most of all, fun!

:D

Not yet, Leopold, but I'm all ears. Email me privately and we'll kick about the details. Consider me flattered to be included :)

All I gots to say to that is: WOO-HOO!! :D BTW, Phil, I've been working on something for you. I think you'll like :)

Consider it included. Be warned, however, that it is a half-human kobold and not a half-kobold something else. Yours truly is working on a half-kobold template for the web enhancement to this product. More on that later.

Quoth Khur again:
Frilf nixed my Foot Fungoid template...
I know. Some project managers can be so cruel :D

Agreed. This has become much more than the original product. Much. More. And thanks for the compliment, Chris! :)

Yes, I'm partial to the Fjurnian gnomes myself, but the feral gnomes are just one step closer to being utter animals. Nice touch. Every fantasy race has a wilder side, I s'pose.

Cheers!

Would there be any room in the web enhancement for Quasielement Creature and Half-Quasielemental templates?

There may very well be room, Devon. I'm familiar with your work from other threads and I have been suitably impressed. Email me the files and I'll be happy to take a look :)

Okay, so I lied ... or, more PC races.

Well, with the inclusion of the half-kobold, I took it up a notch and couldn't resist adding some new material. So here are new PC races:

Kolmun (Robert Blezard's half-human/half-kobold, dragon servants, perhaps your very own "lizardfolk lite", ECL 0)
Kolmun, dragon-blooded (my little addition via logical progression, ECL 1)
Talock (half-human/half-grimlock, with new-and-improved "sighted" option, ECL 1)

With these additions, the possible PC races amount to 18, or 20 if you count the differing goblin spiders as 3 separate races.

Phew! Now on to final read and the capable and talented design hands of Mr. Phil Reed and Ronin Illustrator....

:D

Frilf,

My contact is thoron-tir-gwaith@lycos.com (It is widely distributed, so I'm not exactly worried unless I start getting spam tomorrow.)

Email me, and we can start talking. :) bD (Leopold) is great at expanding our project list. I get to do the organizing and quality control.

bD/Leopold: thanks for directing me here. Paul and I can take it from here. :)
