Practiced spellcaster and half casters.

I don't know if this has come up before, but I haven't seen anything on the subject so I figured I'd ask.

If I'm planning on playing a paladin, ranger, hexblade, or other character whos caster level = 1/2 their character level, would you consider Practiced Spellcaster a "worth it" feat? Especially for the hexblade, I'm seeing the boosted ability with my spells to be rather tempting. Something about four all but guarenteed caster levels over most of your career strikes me as a hard deal to pass up, though.

So do you think that the skill/feat cost balances, or is this yet another thing for the anti-PS crowd to make noise about?

Is the limit your character level? For some reason I thought the feat wouldn't have helped a single-class paladin for example, but if it does it certainly doesn't seem to be too powerful to me.

Perfectly reasonable and not overpowered in the least. I rather like it because it makes roleplaying sense, even if it is a lousy idea from a powergaming POV.

I think the Practiced Spellcaster feat seems promising in some of those PrCs that give less than +1 caster level per level, especially when you do not want to lose too much offensive punch.

Not having your own buffs annihilated by every stray Dispel Magic, and having a better Dispel Magic yourself are very minor conveniences to a Paladin.
