Pre-Campaign Survey - final version

BigCat

First Post
Hi everyone,

Thanks for the help brainstorming my pre-campaign survey. Here's the version I think I'll be sending out. I didn't include a couple suggestions that were excellent but not relevant (eg, I'm doing a homebrew world, so nothing about specific campaign settings here).

What level would you like to begin at? (1-3)
What level would you like to end at? (10-20)
What magic/power level do you like to play at? (1=I hate and fear magic, 10= I am unto a
god)
I am considering ditching the standard Tolkien races (elves, dwarves, etc) for some new
ones. How appealing would this be to you? (1=No! I love my waist-high warriors, 10= Yes! I’ve always wanted to see Legolas die in a fire)
Do you enjoy having religion and prophecy central to the plot? (1= I’ve had it with the
Pelor freaks, 10= Gimmie a burning bush, pronto)
Do you prefer the PCs to have a unifying motivation, or to all have their own plans? (1= we’re all in this together, 10 = vive le difference)

Rules changes:
Are there any standard rules that would prefer to have changed?
Are there any variant rules you might like to include?
I am considering adopting the “Action Point” system to give a more cinematic
feel to things: http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/adventuring/actionPoints.htm
What would you think about that?

Type of game:
Divide up 10 points for how much you enjoy each type of adventure:
[e.g, Urban 3, Wilderness, 2, Dungeon 5]:
Setting:
Urban
Wilderness
Dungeon Crawl
Continuity:
Overarching plot
Self-contained plots
Character development
Scale of major plot:
Large scale (end of the world)
Small scale (clear my gambling debts)
Problems to solve:
Combat
Role Playing
Puzzles/Traps

Any general comments? Stuff you didn’t like last time? Stuff you especially liked last time?
