I confess to a liking for orcs (one of the few

). Along with kobolds of course.
Though, in a sense, I actually voted for humans. Thanks to the way orcs (and elves and dwarfs) came about on my (in progress) setting.
It has to do with an alien race known as the kikihehj (my replacement for mind flayers) and one of their methods for breeding. Which would've been very successful were it not for the immune system of the creatures on Ki.
As a result orcs are (in a sense) a cross between man and wolf. Most Ki orcs roam in packs, with most packs organized into families and some few of those into clans. One group known as the Unicorn Orcs carry this scheme a bit further with tribes, nations, and the Unicorn Orc Confederation itself.
Goblins and halflings are a mix of chimpanzee and human, with the halflings more human than the goblins are.
Haven't decided on what kobolds are, though I can say that gnolls are baboons with a touch of Man.
