And I belive Medusa was a Gorgon...but that ain't the way it works in D&D. :D

I would have chosen an Asperii, but since they weren't listed I voted for the always stylish Griffin.

It was a real toss-up between Wyvern and Pegasus for me. It must be the videogame influences on me I guess. Wyverns won out though.

I'm actually surprised by the griffin fandom, but then again, they are awesome mounts, so maybe I should have considered them a lot more.

Chalk up another vote for griffons here too. They're beautiful, regal, and pretty tough in a fight. In fact, I think I'd prefer a griffon more than a dragon.

How about a flying ostrich? I hear they're great for lance-weilders.

Yeah, but they're very prone to attacks from above, and tend to revert back to eggs when combat turns against them.

Out of what was offered (*sigh* Where was the "It depends" or "Other" option), I voted Roc. Nothing like the fantasy equivalent of a B52...

Other options I'd have chosen?

Insects (incl. Dragonflies), Hummingbirds, Owls, or a powerful Arcane/Divine spellcaster/Psionic manifester.
