This poll desperately needs an "Other" option. I voted roc, out of the available options, but I'd really like a skybleeder, from the Fiend Folio. Giant acid-drooling, weather-controlling, druid-hating tenatcle-beasts for the win! It needs the Hover feat, though, since it's really more like a flying platform than a mount per se.

I voted Chimera because, let's be honest... Griffin/Hippogryff is so typical, and I don't know what a Yrthak is. :) Chimera aren't the fanciest fliers, but they're messed up enough that you will command respect from anyone that sees you swooping in.

Agreed. I've been a fan of the Chimera since X3: Curse of Xanathon was released. Late in 2nd edition I finally got one for a high-level evil charcater near the end of the campaign.

You know, I honestly never realized just how truly ill-thought out a Spider Eater's poison was until this thread.

Initial Damage: None
Secondary Damage: Paralysis for 1d8+5 weeks.

Gryphon... or Griffin if you insist. I really liked the book "The Black Gryphon" by Mercedes Lackey. Too bad D&D doesn't have fully sentient Gryphons.
