So, will this be a D20 treatment that can easily be used with other D&D and D20 products from other publishers, or is it going to be closer to the d20 version of SAS?

Good question, because that will make it or break it for me.

I prefer d20 products that are fully compatable. I like integrating that kind of stuff into my own campaign, I don't want to play it as a separate game...

GoO has already stated that they changed some of the d20 concepts for SAS because they felt the superhero genre needed it. I feel they also did it to maintain as much compatability with Tri-stat SAS as possible to reduce the pain of dual statting. They have already said that some of their future d20 books would be much closer to D&D, and since Slayers is a Fantasy world and there will be few or no future dual-statted supplements, I'd bet money that that it is much closer to D&D than SAS is.

I agree.
SAS d20 is too different from other d20 games for any real advantage from it being d20.

Geoff.

IMHO SAS d20 is not truely d20. Maybe in the letter it's d20, but it's spirit is Tri Stat. I love SAS Tri-Stat, and I love d20 games, but the hybrid, always IMHO is not very good...

So I hope the Slayers d20 will be a true d20 product, compatible d20 if you prefer.

I've got go with what some other people are saying. SAS Tri-Stat is great. SAS d20 is good but not an easy to mix and match style super game. If Slayers is d20 SAS style... we'll, let's just say I'd hope Gaming Frontier's gets a copy they need reviewed. ;)

Slayers d20

Slayers d20 will be done as a traditional approach to d20. It will have all the feel and flourish that people are accustomed to in a d20 product. With SAS d20, we wanted to push the boundaries to develop the best d20 superhero game possible. We intend on doing that again with a future product. Slayers and some other products we have planned, however, will utilize the "traditional" approach of d20 - Feats, Spells, Classes, Levels, etc. After all, Slayers is a traditional fantasy IP and thus is best served by the traditional fantasy approach of d20...

Sorry, but no. Naga is from the OAVs; our license is for the TV series.

Awww! I wanna say I understand, but I really don't get it. I know that the TV shows and the OAV and movie anime are licensed to different companies, but why would the Japanese company license RPG's the same way? Or is GoO somehow connected to CPM and gets it's deal through there? Even if so, ADVision doesn't own Naga.

But I must admit that Slayers is pretty wide in scope, and perhaps it is a good idea to set limits. Otherwise, we'd not only have Naga to deal with, but also Luke, Millerna, Remii... perhaps there's a lot to hope for in the future?

I don't wanna sound unhappy about a Slayers D20 game. I am SO going to get it! Especially after Whisper Jeff's comments. Slayers should be treated as a *&* compatable game. I read in Amimerica that went something like "Lodoss Wars is the *&* game DM's dream about, while Slayers is the *&* game that ends up getting played". That's what it's all about.

Names changed to protect those who might need it.

That settles it. Summer 2003 is a long time.... Blast!

Hopefully the MM2 will be open by then... because Zel would be an elf with the half-golem (stone) and half-fiend templates.. heh.
