Prestige classes for the Favored Soul? Major in Healing, Minor in Combat or Buffing

Hi everyone,

My friend is finally picking up his campaign again where I'm playing a favored soul (I like to pick random, odd classes to play if you ask why). I kinda lost my PC sheet and need to reroll him, luckily he's only lvl 4 and I only got to play him once (joined the campaign a bit late). Since I have a better head on my shoulders about picking spells/skills/feats and such I'm kind of at a loss as to what I should pick up for a prestige class, if at all.

So my question to all of you is just that, what prestige classes would be good for a major focus in healing? I'd be the groups healer and before I pick my feats and such again, I wanted to work towards the right prestige class. So, I'm up for any suggestions.

Thanks everyone! :)

Combat Medic (originally from Heroes of Battle) is a good chap for that.

For a non-evil align, 4 ranks of concentration, 8 of heal, combat casting and dodge (plus able to cast cure spells), you get 5 levels of spellcasting, a good reflect, d6 HD, healing kickers (a bonus buff given to anyone who is healed by your spell; sanctuary, reflex save bonus, or aid), evasion, mobility, curing without provoking an AoO, and spontaneous converting to the heal spell. Nice guy if you want to give up some melee for it.

Although its focus is on combat, there is a prestige class in the back of Deities and Demigods (p 208) called the Soldier of Light. Its shtick was to be a Paladin-esque champion of positive energy, going so far as to attract a "familiar" of pure positive energy that has the power to heal. I took it when I had a Favored Soul and it worked out great for me. :3

It's also a fantastic way to get Turn Undead and all related hijinks. ;)

What you need is a Wand of Cure Light Wounds, or better yet, a Wand of Lesser Vigor. When you have that, take another. After that, another. There, your healing needs are accounted for. Now use that Favored Soul with its few spells known for something that's actually useful!

reserved feat Touch of Healing...if your the party healer, now you can do it all day, 3 hpts per level of the highest level healing spell you have....so a 2nd level healing spell you have means you heal 6 h pts per round, 3rd level = 9/round. Only catch is you can only do this up to the recipients max hpts/2.
