Previews for Dragon 353 and Dungeon 144

hmm, i was thinking about it in the last few days, and i noticed a pattern.

329, 333, 337, 341, 345, 349...

353! so wait a minute, there's no mention of the Demonomicon in the preview above! did they change the "every 4 months" format, or did they not want to reveal who it was (as this was how Dagon's cat got out of the bag a few months early)?

or...

...and a famous monster from the much-loved Planescape setting...

is that vague reference actually a hint? is Pale Night or another demon lord from Planescape the next one in line?

It's certainly possible, and would be kinda cool. But for those couple folks who put in a 'loth article pitch (you and I included), the wait... *chuckle*

My original pitch at least has been floating around since January or so, and then was reworked sometime later after Erik asked for 'loth article ideas in the letters section of Dragon. Honestly, I'd happily collaborate with the others who put their own pitches into the ring.

sure, why not. it will make them more cohesive, especially if they get used together.

If they have done something like cancel the Demononicon I will rain insults down upon the heads of those responsible!!!

I doubt they've cancelled one of their most popular article series, but I do think that there's a possibility that it's been delayed. My reasoning is that, at the end of the The Savage Tide, you fight Demogorgon, so they might want to delay things so that a Demonomicon article (about Demogorgon) appears in the Dragon that's opposite to that issue of Dungeon.

Of course, it's probably more likely that it's not delayed, and just not in Previews, but who's to say?

Didn't James say that he was working on a Demonomicon article that was a bit lustful? Wouldn't February be the perfect month for that?

I'm working on the next Demonomicon, and as far as I know it's set to continue the pattern of one every 4 issues. I could be wrong though. As to who it's gonna be this time... let me run it by the Dragon editors tomorrow and see if it's too late to drop any hints.

Oh yes.. Forgotten Realms and Eberron content in every issue from #350 moving forward.

As for what they are, I will let the previews spell them out (or the issues themselves).

The next Demonomicon will indeed be in issue #353; confirmation from Boss Bulmahn has been comfirmed.

He won't let me say who's the star of this one yet, though.
