Price an item that knows when you drop...

It's from masters of the wild druids have access to the regeneration series with descriptors like
minor, moderate, critical...etc. which give you fast healing x.
they last for a number of rounds 10+ your level. these spells make druids damn effective healers as long as you dont need it in 1 big shot.

Oh, yeah. I remember now. I remember gettin' all excited about that line of spells a while back. Heh. It wouldn't even surprise me if I've already written up a magic item or two that uses them either. :)

but wouldnt it be only 2000 gold theoretically for a magic ring that cast light regeneration on you an unlimited number of times?then you permantly have fast healing 1.

Ya, but that's why those aren't rules, they are guidelines. This item would be much more expensive, as it's better then a Ring of regeneration.

...or perhaps the Ring of Regeneration ain't so great?

Hint: The price is crap! ;)

Another way of pricing the item would be using a quickened cure minor wounds, which would cost 56,000gp. It would be a free-action every round (might as well be automatic) and would cure you of 1 hit point per round.

By the way, the formula would be (4 x 7 x 2,000gp).

I'm all thumbs when it comes to pricing magic items, so I won't even attempt the numbers - but I don't think I saw anyone mention what I think is a similar magic: a ring of the feather falling.

It's a slotted item that automatically casts a 1st-level spell when a certain event occurs (thereby raising the same "how does it know" questions as the proposed item). Heck, the ring doesn't even have a use limitation, and it only costs 2200 gp.

BTW, the downside of the regenration line of spells is that it only regenerates damage sustained during the spell's duration.
