[Pricing] Ring of Transport--cost?

A few sessions ago, the PCs acquired a ring that let the wearer either Teleport or Planeshift once per day, as per the spell by a 15th level Wizard. Note that both cannot be used in the same day. Recently the players have gained access to more reliable transportation magic, and are thinking of trading away the ring. What would the approximate GP value of this item, using the 3.0 pricing system? I've never been able to understand the "multiple similar powers" rules...

you can never tell when something like that will be useful. especially as a last-minute get the heck outta there back-up item.

I too would keep it. But if they want to sell it, you could look at it as an item that casts teleport once per day and plne shift once per day. Then cut the price in half because only one can be used per day.

Teleport: 5 * 9 * 1800/5 * 1.5 = 24,300

Plane shift: 5 * 9 * 1800/5 = 16,200

Total price after halving: 18,250gp. It'd therefore be worth about 9,125gp in trade or sale.

I too advised them to keep it, and they have yet to sell it--besides, it doesn't technically belong to them in any case. However, I like to be prepared for this sort of thing, as breaking a session for 15 minutes of book-flipping and calculator-punching is seldome conducive to fun.
