D&D 5E Princes of the Apocalypse is now Available inAmazon

I'm so not interested in this. Luckily they are going to give everything I would want away for free. Good going WotC.

Is it just me, or is the plot of this book just one step above "There is a wand split into 5 parts and hidden in 5 dungeons"? Four dungeons, each themed on an element, each ruled by a bad guy with a magic weapon that will end the world. It just seems very 1980s gonzo to me. I would be a little embarrassed to present that plot to my players.

The characters must gather the elemental weapons and become captain planet to stop the BBEG?

Also "corrupt prophets" makes me think of Enron and Ponzi, maybe that is just me though.

We only have to summary, there might be more to plot then that and likely will be. Maybe the fire prophet has disturbed a volcano and while yoi could just take her weapon and kill her, you might chose to restabalize the vulcano first to save the local village, only to find out during that, that the local lord is the fire prophets ally and so you will have to figure out how to bring him to justice afterwards. And a zillion other side plots, missions, and twists are possible. Also this is under the bsckground of FR so divine plots and interference are possible.
