Private Forums moved?

I snagged this from the "Gaming Action" forum location debate in the other thread and thought it was an idea that warranted some consideration...

Really, does having one extra forum on the front page really make that big a difference? If so, why is "Moderators Only", "Newshounds", and "Message Board Guild" on the front page? Those are all private forums.

Seems to me those three forums could be tucked away somewhere with very little trouble to the general population of the boards. Was this considered during the board changes discussion?

I dunno.

NKL has a master private forum that contains all the others. The whole group is invisible unless you have access to one or more forums within. Don't know if that setup is necessary as it seems that if you can't see any private forums there that your not a member of..

I can see the private forums...not a member (no jokes).

I think making them invisible would help more in this regard.

Maybe it's a good idea, or maybe not. I'm not really sure what the criteria was for consolidating forums in the first place, except to boost some activity in areas that seemed to be getting neglected. What other reasoning went into the process?
