Prone Grappling, i.e. climb up their leg

First Post
Let's say Joe is prone next to Jane.

Joe decides to grapple Jane, taking a -4 to hit on the touch attack. Jane gets +4 to hit on her AOO due to Joe being prone.

Blah blah blah, billions of rolls are made.

When the dust clears, Joe is grappling Jane.

They are in the same square.

Is Joe still prone in the square with Jane? Jane is standing, and Joe is hugging her knees?

Did Joe manage to climb to a stand while the grapple was going on?

If Jane escapes the grapple next round, does that leave Joe prone in the square, or standing?

Joe remains prone. Describe the actual combat however you feel, but grappling does not give you an automatic attempt to stand up. During the grapple, however, Joe could stand and not provoke an AoO (because Jane does not threaten him any longer, being grappled). If Jane escapes the grapple, then Joe remains prone.

Well, at least no AoO from Jane, but if Jane's friend the wolf was flanking Joe, then the wolf still gets an AoO. All the rest is absolutely correct.
