The 'quick and dirty' way of saying Tsyr is "zeer". It's not 100% correct, but it gets you in the general ballpark.

The "Ts" is unique... It's normaly not used in the way I'm using in the english language. Think of the word "cats". Now, take the "ts" sound from the word, and soften the "t" sound just a bit. When you get it right, it should sound almost like a "z", just with a bit of 'catch' to the begining of it.

"y" is being pronounced as a double E, as in "beer", or as an EA in "fear", "near", or "hear".

"r" is just "r", nothing special there.

I hope that clears up any confusion, and I invite anyone else with a complex, unique, or funny-sounding name around here to hijack this thread with instructions on pronouncing their own name... Sometimes you get surprised how many people were pronouncing it way wrong (My old Everquest guild thought it was "Zire", and I had one person say it like "Tie-zer", which isn't even close... )

Maldur recently schooled me in the pronucniation of my name, which is Dutch for damage. I also belive I am incapable of pronouncing it properly. It is supposed to be "schg-ai-duh" with a schwa and a g in the first part, a longish "A" sound and duh at the end.

My name's not my own. I shamelessly stole it quite a while ago, so I can only give the pronounciation which I think it uses.

Zah-ppoh. More or less. Well, whatever; luckily, Italian pronounce is largely univocal, so I don't get mispronounced by my friends.

If I had know the correct spelling i would have gone with it. I had heard teh word only once, and mispronounced. It was actually a character name, which was based on the norse goddess/giantess Skaadi, so I kind of merged the spellings.

I have heard mine hacked up pretty bad to, it's really quite easy:

Sah-nack-rah-nib.

See that was easy and nobody even died. I guess I will have to seek the components for my lab expirements elsewhere.

I know it isn't correct, but every time I see your name I turn it into "Snack on a rib." Sorry, maybe I'm just hungry or something...

Oh, and Drew is my real name...sort of. Its actually Andrew. Drew is my radio name, which I picked because I would feel weird if people called me "Kevin" or something. Not my name, after all. Drew is close enough to Andrew, and its what my Mom used to call me to shorten my name.

Everybody has their name misspelled at one time or another. It's even funnier when someone misspells your radio name. Hey, you misspelled my fake name! I'm going to pretend to get angry about that!
