(Proposal) Learner Prestige Class

I'll take a partition to go through the SRD. GW, I assume you will take another. How many other people can we get to go through the SRD and copy out the abilities, and assign levels to them? If we get 4-5 people, we can break it down real fast and then get a comprised list together to examine or such.

I would take a partition, of course.

Do we want to go from 0-9 or 1-9 for learner spell levels?

Also, then another question: if we go with assigning spell levels, assigning spells/day is easy, but what about spells known? As it sits, a learner only gets Learner level + Int mod. Do we want to go with a set progression like a sorcerer, unlimited known like a wizard, or keep it formulaic?

0-9. There have to be some nearly useless (but still neat) potential blue magic spells.

We will work on spells known and such after we have a list, I think.

I doubt that we would need a seperate breath weapon for each age category. And not all wyrmlings breath weapons would be 0th or 1st level, nor would all great wyrms be 9th (some higher, others lower). I'd truncate the dragons at size categories first, and see what you get. For instance, a White Dragon goes from Tiny to Gargantuan,

Wyrmling T
Very young S
Young M
Young adult L
Mature adult H
Wyrm G

Thats only 6 levels of breath weapon to handle, so it keeps things simple. If your Blue Mage could potentially learn a higher level breath weapon than the truncated size, his ability is still limited to the smaller dragons power. The spell levels could be something like:

Wyrmling 2nd
Very young 3rd
Young 5th
Young adult 6th
Mature adult 8th
Wyrm 9th

I don't know though, I don't want your ideas to get stopped up on such things, its better if we have an idea of every ability in the game before we need to start making our edits.

True. We don't necessarily need a level of breath weapon at each age category.

I don't follow the '...potentially learn a higher level breath ewapon than the truncate size, his ability is still limted to the smaller dragons power' bit...

Alright then.

So, thus far we have myself, Creamsteak, and Erekose13 for doing some partitions. How do we want to divvy these out?

I think that D has by far the most creatures in the SRD. So perhaps 1 person take A-D. The next most popular letter is E I think, and the tail end has fewer creatures. So Lets go with:

A-D
E-M
N-Z
