(Proposal) Learner Prestige Class

CS - would you prefer A-D? It sounds like you have an idea for how to handle the dragons, and while I'd probably just go with the ideas you posted earlier, chances are you'd do a better job than I.

Your call, either way. :)

I took A-D.

CS - before you posted that, I had already started work on the section. I finished off demons and devils... however, I'm still interested in your take. :)

I've attached what I've gotten done below.

Hmm... CS, I think I misinterpreted your post. I thought you meant that you were taking the demons, devils, and dragons, in addition to what you were working on earlier. :o I had finished A-D, except for the dragons, at that point... sorry about that. :o

Okay GW here is the file for E through M. I think once we go through all of them we should look each others work over and debate anything we are not sure of. Best way to catch any errors I think. I propose this because I am not entirely sure how accurate some of my spell level choices were. Oh and another note, for calculating the learn dc I used the formula (10+1/2HD+cha) but only if the cha was positive. I felt that some creatures like constructs with only 1 cha made things too easy. So if there was a cha penalty I ignored it and treated it as a Cha 10.

You have a good idea there, with checking each other's work.

For one - the lamia's wisdom drain should only be 1st level. I know it sounds overpowered at first glance (I thought the allip's wisdom drain was, as well), but comparing it to ray of enervation, which deals 1d6+1/2 caster levels worth of Str damage and is 1st level... I think that the wisdom drain abilities are around that power level, if not weaker, since they don't scale.

Rejuvenation - I don't know what to make of that one... that's certainly an odd ability. Using it in an example, I would think that the character would (for purposes of LEW) just return to the inn it frequented in life. How that would function, I have no idea... for instance, when would the learner cast the spell? Right before death? Would it have a duration, and if the character died in that duration, he comes back at the inn? As a 9th level spell, I think it works... it's vaguely on par with the bring-back-the-dead spells at that level, though it accomplishes it in a really weird fashion.

yeah thats why i put rejuvenation at 9th level. i think we said that anything without explicit duration is 1rd/level. so they would have to cast it before they died then would resurface either in the inn or with their companions. it is definitely one that we would have to provide notes for dms or judges. but i think that it is in line with true ressurection.

i looked back over the lamia and actually i think i should have put it higher. the lamia Drains wisdom, not deals damage. and actually the allip should be high too. i had originally put it at 3rd because i thought it was damage and that the caster could use it 1rd/level - which makes it quite a bit more powerful. now that its drain i would go up to 6th if it is 1rd/level or 4th if it is just one touch.

Lamia's Wisdom Drain is no-way, no-how a 1st level effect.

Ray of Enfeeblement inflicts an enhancement penalty to strength (which does not stack with itself) for 1min/level.

Wisdom Drain is a 3rd-4th level effect if it's one touch (Compare to Poison, which allows a save, allows SR and deals attribute damage, not drain)

If you want Wisdom Drain to last 1rd/level it's at least a 6th level effect.

I'd probably set the level for the Allip the same as the Lamia, the 5hp/attack isn't quite good enough to merit a level bump.

Edit: I'll take a look at the rest and post feedback. GW, would you come by the Hunt for the Cirya again?

Here's my thought on Rejuvenation:

Rejuvenation
Necromancy 6
Duration: Instantaneous
Range: Personal
When the caster dies, he may immediately make a DC 16 level check. If the check succeeds, the caster rises as a ghost in 2d4 days.
