Psicrystal does not advance with Psychic Warrior?

From the SRD, Psionic Monsters: Psicrystal
A psicrystal’s characteristics depend on its master. Its Hit Dice are equal to its master’s Hit Dice (counting only levels in psion or wilder)[emphasis mine], its hit points are equal to half its master’s, and its saving throw bonuses are the same as its master’s.
So if I were to take the Psicrystal Affinity feat, my levels in Psychic Warrior would not increase my crystal's HD (and therefore abilities)?
The segment about psicrystals in the Psion class description does not metion this at all... it uses the terms 'psionic character' and 'owner's level'. So does the crystal advance with my Psychic Warrior, or does it remain at HD 1?

Trouble is this line.

Psicrystal abilities are based on the owner’s levels in psionic classes. Levels from other classes do not count toward the owner’s level for purposes of psicrystal abilities.

Primary Sources should really be used to determine the more applicable statement. I'd personally go with the definition as listed in the Player section rather than the monster section.

I definately go with the 'levels in psionic classes' bit as well. I see no reason at all to limit it in other ways ;)

My guess is that the erroneous line was simply accidentally not removed when it should have been.
