[PsiHB] Multiple Claw powers?

What happens if you try and manifest both Claws of the Bear and Claws of the Vampire at the same time?

Options:
-Claws of the Vampire, being higher level, trumps Claws of the Bear. Claws of the Bear ends immediately.
-Claws of the Vampire, being higher level, trumps Claws of the Bear. Claws of the Bear is not in effect for the duration of CotV, but the effect returns when CotV ends.
-The most recent one prevails. Whichever one you had going before ends.
-Both remain in effect. You deal 1d12+mods unarmed damage, and gain 1d8+mods hit points with every unarmed attack, to a maximum of the damage dealt.
-Both remain in effect. You deal 1d12+mods damage, and gain the same amount of hit points.

Funny question. I would allow only one at work ...

(What would you do if your 1d12 damage causes less damage than the 1d8?)

Well, speaking as the DM for whom you first played this character, the

"Both remain in effect. You deal 1d12+mods unarmed damage, and gain 1d8+mods hit points with every unarmed attack, to a maximum of the damage dealt."

was how I planned to do it. Having them stack would be excessive, but having them cancel each other isn't, to my mind, implied in the rules.

old news

This has already been erratted. Claws of the vampire gains you a maximum of 8 HP per hit, period, regardless of damage dealt or modifiers.

There is now problem using claws of the bear and claws of the vampire together, you do 1d12+mod damage with each hit, and gain that many hit points up to a maximum of 8.

Note, as stated earlier this is not my opinion but the official erratta. Unfortunately I no longer have the link to this, just the downloaded info. But I'm sure someone does if you keep asking. There were a bunch of other psi questions answered in the same link.
