Psionics: Yea or Nay?

Do psionics belong in a fantasy RPG like D&D?

I've no problem with the IDEA of Psionics, but I've yet to see an implementation rules-wise that didn't make it entirely too complicated or too different from the rest of the ruleset for me to want to bother with.

I have not seen 4E's version yet.

4e is not too different from the core mechanics nor too complicated. However, it can be argued that psionics in 4e are not balanced.

I suspect that was either some kind of spam or some kind of troll.

Of course, it's possible that it's just someone who got really confused and lost on the internet...

That's more than a little high and mighty, and completely unfounded based on the content of the post.

No small number of people who started in video games (with common slang terms like "toon" for character) have gotten into D&D after the fact. I was one of them many moons ago. This isn't even the first time that term has come up on these boards.

Maybe that was simply a lurker who was learning more about D&D and who finally decided to post, but is still more comfortable with the terms used in MMO circles.

No... it's completely based on the content of the post. Other than the key word of psionics, it didn't have anything to do with the rest of the thread.
