Ptolus - Six Days Early!

My Ptolus just arrived and OH MY GOD!

WOW! This book is so awesome! It has a dragonhide cover. Well maybe they are city street cobblestones on reflection. But you can feel the scales/stones.

The art is beautiful. Turn to any random page and there are 2-4 little pictures, maps, diagrams, symbols. Tons of beautiful large sweeping art pieces.

The book is chock full of color. The sidebars are color-coded. Green, red, blue, purple, brown, etc. There are colored tabs on each page which you can see when the book is closed to easily open the book to the appropriate section.

There are three silk bookmarks stitched into the spine for keeping track of specific pages.

The print is small so they can fit a lot of info on each page. And they do. Descriptions, NPC's (including stats), little encounters, big encounters, guilds, coats of arms, the level of detail is amazing!

Every little thing I have read so far is intriguing and sparks the imagination. It will take months to read through this thing. You could probably run a campaign out of this book alone for years.

One of the happiest D&D purchases I have ever made! I need to sit down now and dig into this thing. I know this is going to take awhile...

I was up until 3 a.m. last night, just skimming the book. Monte could have easily split this into three books and they still would have been dense with information. Without even starting in on the Night of Dissolution, Chaositech or the Banewarrens, this is going to take a long time to digest.

I just got home and what do you know!!!!!! My PTOLUS. :)

Signed by Monte, with a "For Matt:" personalization. Awesome.

#15/1000. Totally stoked.
Personalization is awesome! That's the first thing I checked for - to see if I got one of the "idle time sketches." I Didn't, but that's okay. I love this book - and now that my wife is at work, I can devote full time to reading it.

Yeah, but you're on the whole opposite corner of the country from Monte and Sue.
They ship from Georgia where the White Wolf warehouse is. They probably will be shipped to people who live close to there on Monday.

Peace and smiles :)

Well, a bunch of people in the PNW have recieved theirs, so I am hopeful for a Monday arrival. :) Even so, hearing that others are receiving theirs make me even more excited. It's a good thing I'm on vacation!

Man, your enthusiasm is infectious! :D

Makes me wish I had the disposible income to pick it up, but alas I cannot justify the expense for something I would like cannabilize for my homebrew anyway. :heh:

Did everyone get a print copy of Night of Dissolution with the Ptolus book? I thought that was one of the preorder bonuses but no-one has mentioned it so far. Probably too wrapped up in the big book to care I guess! :D
