PTOLUS - Who has pre-ordered?

I've pre-ordered too :) I'm planning on starting a new campaign soon(ish) and I'm sure Ptolus will feature somewhere along the line, as one of the major cities in my setting.

Since I planned out most of the lower to mid levels of the new campaign, it will probably form the base for the later parts of the story arc. Until I've had a chance to read it , however, it is difficult to plan for.

The basic premise is that Gygafrak, the deity of goblinoids, is about to embark on his third major war to capture the world of Arrasia. I'm going to run a modified version of The Sinister Secret of Saltmarsh as a prelude to The Redhand of Doom, with a few side advetures along the way. This war, however, is only a prelude to main event and the adventurers will be equipped with vital information which will aid the forces of good defeat Gygafrak. Ptolus is likely to be one of the major northern cities (so it won't be called Ptolus...), where (probably) the characters will end up before the war really kicks off.

Maybe...

I recently pre-ordered. Havent had the time to check out the preorder content on the website, also not clear how to access it. Ordered through the site, through the WW shop.

I pre-ordered about a week ago, through the WW store.

I am planning on using it to figure out what the CR system actually expects from characters. Since I couldn't find a benchmark for it, I'm have to sort it out from the encounters. And I figure the original implementors might have a more solid grasp on it.

I preordered. It seems like Malhavoc and Necro are the only big-ish publishers outside of WotC to keep the d20 fantasy lifeblood flowing. So I'll stick with 'em.

Speaking of which, has Malhavoc even done anything recently besides the last Iron Heroes book a while ago? Seems like they've basically given up everything else to do this Ptolus thing and if not, I must be several books behind I need to get.

I pre-ordered months ago, so I should have a relatively low-numbered signed copy. Actually, I doubt I'll be using it any time soon, as I'm just starting a Castle Zagyg:Yggsburgh campaign (C&C). I'm still looking forward to reading it, though; I expect it to be an impressive product.

I would love to pre-order it but will not.

Seems that shipping to Canada from White Wolf will cost me some $40-$45 dollars US. Shipping by courier it seems. And all couriers shipments go through brokerage houses into Canada and brokerage fees are about $40- $50 dollars.

So that is minimum $80 dollars for shipping. That is bloody piracy. I know Ptolus is big. But $40 for shipping? And brokerage fees on top of that. Come on now. White Wolf can't ship by another method to Canada? I got a book from the US that weights as much if not more than Ptolus and shipping cost me $22. $22 I can accept. $80+ I can't.

So, if any White Wolf personages see this.....what gives? Why the high cost for shipping to Canada? Why not an alternative to shipping by courier?

I pre-ordered in the first few days it was available. I plan to run my next campaign using Ptolus by using Arcana Evolved and D&D side by side, plus a host of other d20 materials and IH for other eras.

I am torn.

I think it may be the last great third edition product, but I would probably never use it. So, I've got to decide quickly whether or not to get it. I have done a great job of *not* buying cool stuff in the last year, which helps the finances considerably. :) Keeping that streak going would be great. But owning the last great 3(.5)e product would be great, too.
